ANNUAL GRANT PRIORITIES & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

SUPPORT FOR COMBATING SYSTEMIC RACISM, PREJUDICE, & EXCLUSIVITY (EVEN YEARS)

Nonprofits that address racist practices and policies in areas like housing, education, employment, healthcare, and the justice system.
Nonprofits that are working to dismantle systemic barriers and create equitable access to resources and opportunities.

SUPPORT FOR ORGANIZATIONS IN THE ARTS (ODD YEARS)

Nonprofits that support the creation of art, learning in the arts at all stages of life, and the integration of the arts into the fabric of community life.
Nonprofits that provide visual arts, performing arts, and literary arts.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

TAX REVENUE LIMIT

The maximum revenue (on the Federal tax return) an organization can have is $2,000,000.
The revenue will be verified by the Archie D & Bertha H Walker Grants & Operations Manager.

GRANT AMOUNT/TIMING

All applications will be for a set grant amount of $5,000.
Organizations will be able to apply in one of two grant categories. The category chosen should be based on the focus of the organization (not projects), as these are general operating grants.
Organizations are limited to a total of 5 grants in a 10-year period (which began in 2020.

GEOGRAPHIC FOCUS

Grantmaking is limited to the Minnesota Twin Cities metropolitan area.
Must be in these seven counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties.
